During the very short period of time I lived in Crediton, Devon I noticed there was very little in terms of amateur, cb or PMR446 users. There was however local activity on civilian and military airband frequencies. It wasn’t unusual to see a Hercules flying low over the town neither, plus other fighter planes and more. Crediton is technically on the edge of Dartmoor National Park which has lots of areas designated for military training etc.
We hope you have better luck than we did.
